Walking, Warhol and Wood

So Wednesday's Arty Day way up in Brisbane, to the Andy Warhol Exhibition.
It was amazing to see all these works up close. He is such an icon, who showed us all the way.

Later we stumbled upon the Balinese Prayer house, still there from World Expo 88 (which I went to) It's the most amazing structure, all carved out of wood. Then after much walking we went to a few art shops, and I managed to have a Dreamy Donut! (yay)

Buddha on a Box

Wednesday 20th Feb saw another artyday!

Bit of a inspiration day held here, with a yummy lunch, saw me sketch this buddha, from an image of a statue.

The plan is to do this as an acrylic, with the background similar to the first photo of my last post!

Will post it here when its done, to be honest i haven't started yet, bit side tracked with other projects.

It will be done!

Ocean and Vines

Today saw another arty day! Perfect weather for it, we met at 9am for a full day of it. (I got perfectly sunburnt) Above we have the glorious Pacific Ocean, with the pandanas palm, also a bit of sand and black rocks peeking through at the bottom. I love the colours of the ocean, that's what its all about!

Shocking but true, this camera took a good clear photo, this was using the zoom on some Lantana flowers. Wish they were all as easy as this.

We walked through the National Park, everywhere were these vines which had grown like this over possibly 100s of years. They were everywhere, all seemed to be like they were meant to be there, all at different stages of life. Like something from Cambodia!

2B Pencils
Also managed to get some quick sketches done! :) These are of the pandanas which line the beach and cliffs on the grass.

Ink and Photos

Today saw the first Arty Day! Which was so much fun!! Today was an inspire by tattoos and a photography day. Here above we have a cool shot at the mangroves. It pays to get down and dirty, and the secret is to use the timer and have long arms!!

Below one of the many crab friends we saw. There were so many darting around, it was good to sit and relax, and let them come out to play! This one collecting for his house, he would've been no bigger than a 20 cent piece!
